3 Things to Avoid If You Want to Achieve Your Hockey Fitness Goals in 2024

In this article, I outline 3 key things to avoid this year if you want to achieve your hockey fitness goals! These are: doing generic training, having no accountability for your goals, and not tracking your progress.

You’ve got big goals in 2024, like lots of ambitious hockey players.

But you might be holding yourself back with 3 common mistakes I see from hockey player all the time.

1) Doing generic, non-specific training

This one frustrates me, as it happens all the time.

I see players doing long runs, bodybuilding training and only double leg exercises.

And they’re surprised they’re not seeing results.

You have got to stop training like this if you’re serious about being a better hockey athlete in 2024.

On our 1-1 programme, we provide hockey specific, individualised training that almost guarantees you fast results.

2) Having zero accountability for your goals

Another common problem I see is players not being held accountable.

It’s all well and good having a plan, but without someone pushing you every week it’s easy to fall off and lose motivation.

On our coaching programme, we check in with you every week to keep you on track.

And give you the tools to get back on track when needed.

3) Not tracking your progress

The last one you’ve got to stop doing this year is not tracking key numbers.

Sleep quality, energy levels, key lifts, sessions completed.

If you’re not assessing, you’re guessing.

This year, make sure you’re tracking these things.

If you were to work with me and my team, we’ll help you track all of the key numbers so that you know exactly where you’re going.
